Gates noticed that the TimeMachine backup wasn’t working on the kitchen Mac. The last back up was the day she turned it off to go on holiday. Worth and Gates investigated. Worth established it was the power plug after plugging it into an alternative cable in the den. He then speculated that a mouse had probably chewed the cable. Gates went downstairs to check the cable. Yep mouse attack!
Worth and Gates spent the afternoon at the hospital anxiously awaiting the results of Worth’s last CT and MRI scans. It was an anticlimax though as the very apologetic consultant didn’t have them. He will get them for tomorrow before Worth’s next treatment. Meanwhile a Thai banquet entertained Worth, Gates and Gates’ Mum.
With the sun shining Worth and Gates decided to spend much of the day having a picnic and reading on the beach. They headed for their favourite little cove at L’Escalet after stopping to grab a baguette and some cakes to go with their ham and cheese. Why does a ham and cheese baguette on a beach in France taste so much better than a ham and cheese sandwich from M & S back home pondered Worth?
Not content with his Mezzanotte aftershave that he got in Eze, Worth decided to treat himself to another one. Doubtless he was influenced by seeing Johnny Depp advertise it on every billboard in France. Gates loved the smell but thought that if Worth now thought he was Johnny Depp, he had a far far better imagination than she had.
We headed for L’Escalet Beach but when we got the the hogey wagon wasn’t there so we would have got no lunch. We carried on to Gigaro Beach and parked outside a small cafe. Chocolate for P and coffee for P and a hot cheese and bacon baguette each.
We found a trail of rises along the seashore and speculated on the story behind them. Were they washed up from a boat or was it a lovers trail as they enjoyed a romantic evening stroll along the beach?
We sat down then for a few hours reading and grabbing photos. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon.
