Sunday morning and a little lie-in for Worth and Gates. A quick bath and then downstairs for bacon and eggs courtesy of Gates, topped off with buttered toast, marmalade and some of Gates’s homemade plum jam.
They chatted over this leisurely breakfast with their guest Lorraine, until Lorraine got on her way for the two and a half hour drive back to London.
Worth felt quite perky so he helped Gates as they tidied up the kitchen and the rest of the house. A lazy afternoon followed as they caught up with some TV on catch up, after first watching the F1 and then took a short stroll around the block.
The evening came and Worth was side-lined for the duration of Poldark, as Gates avidly soaked up every second of the drama, especially when Poldark released his anger and frustrations by hammering furiously in his mine hoping to strike a new seam!
Bertie was put to bed, keys were rattled to bring Ola indoors, and Ola and Worth headed for bed to listen to a new Biggles story – Biggles and The Leopards of Zinn. Not really an antics day but nonetheless a rather pleasant way to spend a Sunday, The Staycation was over and work beckoned for Worth in the morning.
