Tales from a Fractured Folly. 1st February 2017

We have some progress with these two as you can see. They can settle and sleep at opposite ends of the sofa. I think Bertie is getting the idea of how he is expected to behave. He doesn’t always do it, because he is a boy and he likes to try a trick or two.

He was clearly trying it on in this picture. Ola was fast asleep on the left.

Today I had to go to the dentist which I hate and have put off for ages. I have check ups but have only ever had a niggly tooth that was a bit sensitive. Nothing wrong with it. Until now. Now it doesn’t like anything hot, cold or sweet and is painful if I bite on it, which renders its purpose as a tooth rather pointless. It’s an odd dull ache which wears off if I do nothing to annoy it. At which point I then forget and bite on it, and off we go again. Much like anyone who has ever worked for any part of the health service I have a natural dislike of being prodded and interfered with. I shall have to (not) grit my teeth and get on with it. It’s actually putting me off eating now.

Joy of joys there is nothing wrong with the tooth. It is something to do with the wisdom tooth that lurks beneath. So if I keep it super clean, floss and mouthwash it might fix itself as wisdom teeth often do. If this doesn’t work then I will have to have the tooth that hurts taken out although there is nothing wrong with it, because that’s a whole lot easier than removing the wisdom tooth. Not an option apparently.

  1. Sorry about the tooth, but keep up the flossing and I hope that helps. The photo of Bertie ‘watching’ Ola is a riot. Parker used to do that to Kitty. And it was never good! 😀 Thankfully, she does not to that to Teemu; I think she knows he is older and unwell. Plus she dearly loves Teemu and did not feel that way about my poor Kitty.
