I had my first training day for my Invigilators job today. This is some reading material I’m supposed to be familiar with before I start. Invigilating has moved on a bit since I last took exams.
Groovy Word of the day: tortuous
An early start and meet at Brooklands Mini Day. We missed this last time because they changed the day to Saturday and we didn’t notice, well not until we got there on Sunday morning. There were a lot of Minis there both old and new, along with planes and buses and it’s a good day out. When I got home I was greeted by Ola but Bertie didn’t appear until nearly an hour later and I was just beginning to worry about him when he came home.
Groovy word of the day: fluster
I was up and off to see Worth’s cousin Lorraine today. It seemed very odd to be there without Worth but it was nice to catch up. We went out for an early evening meal then watched tv for the rest of the evening. We both had early starts Sunday morning so we went to bed early.
Groovy Word of the day: sojourn
I was ridiculously happy this morning simply because they put the top on the turret on the old house that burned down today. You can just make it out under that blue tarpaulin. I felt I needed to go and speak to them and ask if the weather vane was going back and it seems a new one is being made. I think we could all do with knowing who he was insured with, but probably not the cheapest one on gocompare.
Groovy Word of the day: assiduous
These lovely polyanthus are beautiful in our back garden. I have some in the front too but they aren’t growing so well. I was expecting the Elf later so I tidied up a bit and went shopping for the naughty food I don’t usually buy. I hope she eats it all and it isn’t left to tempt me.
Groovy Word of the day: tantalise
So I left these on their own overnight while I went to see Worth’s mum. We celebrated Worth’s birthday by going shopping in Chester. Worth’s mum surpassed herself by buying two dresses and a handbag. I just amused myself by looking in Boodles window display. Those were not the diamonds I was looking for.I came home to be greeted by Bertie who seemed very pleased to see me. Ola strolled in later. I went upstairs for a while and when I came back this was the scene. They are closer together than I have ever seen them and although Ola looks a little unnerved, they stayed like this for some time. Ola was the first to leave.Groovy Word of the day: harmony
I was intending to do some gardening today until I stepped outside and realised it was a lot colder than I thought. So I went for a walk on the hills instead, going a lot further than I had intended. I meandered around and ended up at the bottom of the hills at Little Malvern Court which was fine. I wasn’t lost but I was quite a way from the car. So back up and over the hills and back down to the car park at British Camp, stopping a short way from the car at the little cafe for a well earned sausage and bacon roll and a cup of tea, as it was now lunch time and I was pooped.
I was up relatively early this morning and off to Shelsley Walsh breakfast club. I think it was the first one of the year, but in any event it was very busy and I ended up driving up the hill to park. I met up with some friends there and we walked around and specced up our dream cars. I loved these colourful Lotuses but I couldn’t live with one as they are a nightmare for a small person to get out of. The sun came out as the morning passed and it was lovely to be outside and not cold.
A Porsche Targa is probably near the top of my wish list but that’s not going to happen as they are mighty expensive. Then we left and had lunch in The Talbot at Knightwick and discovered a lovely farmers market there selling amongst other stuff, handmade Scotch eggs and fresh fish. I bought some smoked cheese for tea then we had a leisurely lunch.
Groovy Word of the day: insouciant
