Tales from a Fractured Folly: 24th June 2017

The day started badly with Ruby getting a puncture, amazingly it could be fixed and it was in less than an hour. Then I was on my way to afternoon tea with Elliot and Philip a little late but not a disaster. After that we headed off to a David Austin to buy a red rose called “Thinking of You” for me to plant in the garden and another called “Desdemona” which I bought for the scent which is sensational. My day out ended at Wollerton Old Hall garden where we had wine and a meal. The gardens were lovely but the string quartet was not entirely harmonious. There was something very Agatha Christie-esque about the whole thing and I half expected to find someone dead in the shrubbery, maybe one of the string players stabbed with their own bow. It was a lovely day, there was lots of laughter and it cheered me up a lot. For some reason I had been feeling a bit down the last few days.

Groovy Word of the day: dulcet

  1. David Austin roses are the loveliest! I did have to chuckle at the Agatha Christie reference. What an imagination!
