Tales from a Fractured Folly: 30th September 2017

I was supposed to be out today but although I got up and dressed ready, I really didn’t feel up to it. So I pottered about and then bumped into my new neighbour who was just taking her dog out for a walk, so I went up the hills with her. For most of the rest of the afternoon I snoozed on the sofa, then I went next door for some prosecco.

Tales from a Fractured Folly: 29th September 2017

I bought these lovely autumnal flowers to brighten up my hearth on the way home from a long day at work. I was on my own today and had the added excitement of a dodgy computer system that didn’t get fixed until 11.30. Bertie brought a mouse home again and woke me up early, so then I dozed off again, woke from a deep sleep and felt tired all day.

Tales from a Fractured Folly: 25th September 2017

Another 400 miles took us to the lovely little town of Bethune for our last stop before home. We are staying in the attic of a rather lovely house, very stylish. It’s only misfortune is being next door to a McCain factory and the consequent smell of chips, but it seems that they stop frying at night. So we wandered into the centre of town for our meal and had what was probably the best meal we have had all holiday, albeit we might have been in Belgium to look at, it is only 20 miles away. A lovely end to a lovely holiday.

Tales from a Fractured Folly: 24th September 2017

We left Italy in the rain this morning and started our journey home. The rain didn’t last long and most of the way were in sunshine like here at the foot of Mont Blanc which was covered in snow. The scenery was stunning and we drove through many tunnels, the longest was  under this chap.  We arrived at our stop tonight to be greeted by not only an Ola cat but her three kittens, who were the most amazing colours, one black and two varying shades of grey and ginger.
