My new friends, the chickens, haven’t been around for a few days so on my way out today I took a look at their bolthole. I was very pleased to see it jammed up with chicken wire, so their wandering days are over for now. We now seem to have acquired a spring at the top of the road which is spewing all over the road and down Green Lane. It is seeping out of a gas main and anywhere else where the tarmac is a bit dodgy and Severn Trent are adamant it’s not their water. (Apparently they can tell, theirs is full of chemicals, and this isn’t.)

I’ll be intrigued to find out how they fix that. I have lived here a long time and I’ve never seen it before but it is very wet on the hills at the moment. My walk was not in the least Springlike today, it was freezing cold and windy at the top, and as I looked into the direction the wind was blowing I could see in the distance some ominous weather heading my way. It turned out to be fine granular stuff, frozen drizzle if you can imagine such a thing. I’ve had a busy week, shopping with the Elf on Saturday, spending a lot, and starting Pilates to tighten up the bits that walking doesn’t reach. I’m out to lunch tomorrow and getting my hair done Friday. I’m so glad I don’t work any more.
