This week’s Photo Challenge from The Daily Post is Abandoned. I have noticed already that it is a popular theme and even for us it was an easy one to work on. A few years ago we did a photo shoot of our Opel GT car in an old abandoned industrial park in Great Malvern and you can see those shots here. While on the shoot though we grabbed some shots of the abandoned work units and we have re-edited them for this challenge, using the Perfect 8 plugin for Aperture. There is something very powerful about the photographs we are seeing for this challenge as we watch nature gradually reclaim man’s footprints on the world.
This week’s Photo Challenge on The Daily Post is “Let There Be Light” and it gave us the perfect excuse to go and shoot some night shots in Great Malvern. We knew what we wanted for this theme – a contemporary sculpture in Rose Bank Gardens of two buzzards which are eye catchingly lit up at night. We have recently joined our local camera club in Great Malvern – The Beacon Camera Club. We are really enjoying it and are finding the meets very interesting and inspiring. The meetings are every Thursday night and this week it fell on Halloween, so a field trip was planned for a walk around Worcester city centre, kicking off at 7.30 outside the Guild Hall. On arrival we split into groups of five for our walk around and then all met 2 hours later in the Plough for a drink, a warm up and to chat about the evening. It really was a fun evening.
